​Teaching and medical education was once ‘the thing’ to do. Everyone was becoming an educational figure, gaining qualifications and applying to numerous educational posts across the hospital. Deaneries started and some still do, provide bursaries to complete PG certs and Masters. 

Fast forward to now and it feels people don’t talk about medical education as much but application forms still weigh teaching heavily so its importance is still very high. Whether you are a newly qualified resident doctor or applying to consultancy, teaching is still very much high up on the scoring agenda. 

Now not everyone is supposed to do a PG cert in medical education. You have to follow and develop your own interests. The Teach the Teacher course is a comprehensive introduction to understanding the theories of learning, principles of lesson planning in various situations and providing effective and fair feedback. Our course doesn’t just teach you how to run a strong simulation programme but it also explores how you can be a stronger public speaker and how to communicate with others. 

We don’t stop there. You may get points for attending a course but what’s truly point scoring is the teaching programme you go on to deliver.
