Sub Speciality Interview Course
Applying for Paediatric GRID, whether it is Cardiology, Gastroenterology or one of the many sub specialities can be very stressful and challenging.
This is the only course of its kind which focuses on the GRID interview and during the two days it will cover those difficult questions about:

- You and your application form
- Career Motivation, preparation and strengths
- Clinical ability and reasoning
- Clinical leadership and team working
- Academic understanding and achievements
Group sizes are kept small to ensure that we focus on YOU throughout the day.
The course is led by Dr Umar Mahmood (Paediatric Cardiology Consultant) and also facilitated by consultants and senior registrar's from various sub specialities.

Course Structure:
Day One: Focuses on your motivation, multidisciplinary team working, leadership and research questions
​
Day Two: You will then be placed in small groups with consultants or senior registrars from your speciality and coached on how to tackle those particular clinical questions.
After the clinical questions you will be divided into groups again and continue with being asked different motivation, multidisciplinary team working, leadership and research questions.

Sessions will close if capacity is reached so book early to avoid missing out

Who delivers the coaching
I personally deliver all the coaching sessions via MS Teams. I have helped a number of trainees prepare for the interviews and having completed my paediatric cardiology training I have been through my fair share of interviews on both sides of the panel. ​MOCK Interviews
We offer mock interview's. This is a 1:1 service where you will be interviewed like the real thing. You will be given a question from each station under timed conditions. Afterwards, you will receive comprehensive feedback. This is typically recorded and will be used as part of the feedback session. Your recording will be deleted. The whole process is approx 90 minutes. The cost is £200 BUT if you book onto our course you will get this add on for £150. Email or WhatsApp if interested.

1. Do you cover all subspecialties?
A: YES! We will have a tutor for you from your speciality to cover the clinical station on day two. We cover ALL the specialities.
​2. What happens after I book?
A: Once you have booked your place either via the website or by bank transfer you will get a courtesy phone call from Umar who will discuss the course outline and answer any questions you may have. Umar will support you from the moment you sign up until the day of your interview. So if you ever have a question you are welcome to message him with any queries.

3. What do I need to do to prepare for the course?
A: Nothing! All we ask is that you know your CV and your Research/QIP really well. The rest will be developed throughout the course.

3. How long is the course?
A: This is a two day course and will start at 08:30 and finish at 16:30 but candidates are welcome to stay to ask further questions

4. Is this course full of lectures?
A: No! The aim of the course is to get you practicing and developing your answers. You will have one lecture in the morning to understand the interview format and tips to do well and you will have a second lecture on day two to understand how to tackle the clinical station.
5. Is there a group discount?
A: Yes. Book with a friend and you will both receive 5% off even if you do different dates. Email or WhatsApp to let Umar know you will like this discount to arrange payment.
